Fall dining room inspiration…thinking outside the box!

When it comes to decorating, I always tell people to do what works for them and THEIR style! Decorating during the holidays is no exception!

This fall dining room inspiration will get you thinking outside the box and make you realize that you can conform holiday decor to your current colors!

PIN THIS, PLEASE! Fall dining room inspiration to help you think outside the box!

As most of you know, we had a navy accent wall painted in our dining room last year with the other walls being a light gray. You can see that transformation and get the paint colors here. Because of that, I knew that my fall decor was going to have to flow with the colors I already have going on in here.

It didn’t make sense to bring in black and white buffalo check, or traditional fall colors to this space. Luckily, I knew just what I wanted to do for my fall dining room. I had to think outside the box and decide how I could make my CURRENT colors transition right into fall!

I had some aqua, white and navy pumpkins from last year that I knew would work great…and I did buy a couple more little navy ones from Target dollar spot again this year too. But, I knew those colors would be perfect for my fall dining room!

For my place settings, I kept it super simple and used placemats and dishes I already had from Old Time Pottery. I simple added a Target dollar spot pumpkin on top of the napkins for that little touch of fall.

On the ends, I placed a bigger Navy pumpkin on the plates from Hobby Lobby.Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

For my centerpiece, I used the big white pumpkin I’ve had for several years from TJMaxx and then I just let the pumpkins flow from either side of it! Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

My favorite new addition here are these wood bead and metal pumpkins from Hobby Lobby that I just knew I HAD TO HAVE this year! They brought in another texture to the table, which I loved.Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

On my buffet, I filled my little planters box and then kept it pretty simple on each end. I love the way this all pops from the Navy wall though! Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

A few little small pumpkins in my corner hutch was all I needed there! Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

I worked with what I had and added a few new things (because what fun is it if you can’t buy at least a few new things each year, right?!)! I’m so happy with how my fall dining room all came out.  Fall dining room inspiration, thinking outside the box!

Do you have a dining room you decorate for the seasons? Do you keep it simple or go all out?!

Until next time…
